I should be sleeping. Though I am still awake after working 55 hours in the last 5 days, I am very thankful to be inside tonight. It is somewhere around 8 degrees outside and feels more like -10 degrees with the wind chill. This is entering into the realm of coldness that begins to make my existence truly a painful experience. The temperature is to drop to near 0 degrees overnight. I suppose we are fortunate in that the wind chill is not supposed to drop any lower.
I have not spoken with that diplomat with whom I quasi-cohabitate more than three times in the last two weeks. He is buried in his books. I am buried in my work. Both of us regret and despise the status quo. Fortunately, it is not forever. His break is next month.
Some of this comp-time that I am managing to accrue at an alarming rate will be used for a couple of days of "us" time. The plan is to venture no further than the front door to meet the food delivery person.
